The Boston Terrier is Intelligent, affectionate, loyal and devoted. They belong to the non-sporting group and have a life span of about 11-13 years. Boston Terriers officially originated in Boston Massachusetts in the later 19th century. Almost all true Bostons are from the common ancestor known as “Hooper’s Judge”. The Boston Terrier has the nickname of “American Gentleman” because of its tuxedo-like markings. Originally a fighting dog, the stature of the breed shrunk when fighting became illegal.
